Here we go...I am going to try to attempt to do a weekly blog.  For some reason this tends to always prove to be a challenge for me to keep up with, but I have a feeling that this is the year!

Wow!  What a whirlwind month September was and here it is already October 7th.  Times sure does fly when you are having fun.  Although the last few weeks have been full of NWEA's and NECAPS's, we were able to squeeze in some pretty amazing field trips.  We went the the 4H camp at Bryant Pond and went the Sunday River for zip-lining, bungie jumping, rock climbing, Chondola ride, and a special pizza lunch.  It has been quite a nice break from all the testing.  I have posted a few pictures for you to enjoy and I will print the other to send home with the students.

As you can see, we had an amazing time!

This Wednesday, we will have Joyce Magnin, a children's author come visit our classroom for a day of writing.  We are very excited to have a real life author visit our class.  I sent home a postcard with a little information about her book, Cake.

At the end of this week, we should have completed our NECAP's.  It will feel great to get back into our regular schedule.  Don't forget that we will be heading to the Gulf of Maine Research Institute on Wednesday, October 16th.  We are very exciting to put our new learning into action.

Don't forget to turn in your weekly reading logs.  Right now you have from Monday to Monday to read and record 60 minutes of reading.  Students should also be spending about 15 minutes each night on IXL and Xtra Math practice.  Thank you for your continued support with homework.  It is such an important piece of the whole puzzle when getting ready for middle school.

As alway, thank you for sharing your child with me.

Until next week,

Mrs. Bullen
